Nicky Slater was almost born on ice! His mother and father were British and World Professional Ice Dance Champions and Nicky followed in their footsteps as an ice dancer.

He was Junior World champion, 3rd in Europe, 5th in the World and competed in two Olympics. His Charlie Chaplin routine with Karen Barber won international acclaim.

Since then Nicky obtained a Masters in Marketing, was Marketing Director for a National Charity, and thereafter an international show producer working with Olympic gold medallists and top entertainers in partnership with Robin Cousins.

Nicky describes his work as a judge as "Both fun and challenging in equal measure. I want to help everybody to be the best they can be, but you have to stand back - as the judge - to be absolutely fair; no matter what the pressure or anybody’s reputation."
