KYRAN BRACKEN

Rugby star Kyran Bracken wowed audiences and judges alike from his first appearance in Dancing On Ice. Having shared the pitch with an array of hulking and formidable opponents during his career with The Rugby World Cup winning squad, Kyran’s ability to work with the rather more dainty Melanie Lambert (in the 2007 TV series) was touching and revealing.

Indeed, Kyran looked to fellow sports star David Seaman as a role model after the debut TV series. He reckoned that if the giant goalie could glide like a swan, then so could he!

Kyran did get some stick from fellow rugby friends when he first starred in Dancing On Ice, but Kyran was clear: "I’m not bothered about the sequins. I’m really looking forward to putting on a full routine and then doing it on the show and getting judged!"

Kyran eventually pipped fellow competitor, Clare Buckfield, to the post in the 2007 series, becoming champion of the series, dancing stunning routines with pro-skater partner, Melanie Lambert. And in the 2008 series Kyran made an appearance during preparations for Week 5, to help contestant and friend Steve Backley with his performance.
